Preventing Colorectal Cancer
"Preventing Colorectal Cancer has been established to preserve the tradition of high quality, affordable, safe, comfortable colorectal screening and care. We invite you to join PCC and support our cause."
Preventing Colorectal Cancer is comprised of gastroenterologists, surgeons, primary care physicians, oncologists, anesthesiologists, nurses, patients and caregivers. Our mission is to educate the public and key stakeholders about the opportunities to reduce the incidence of colorectal cancer by promoting optimal screening and therapeutic care for patients and clinicians.
March may be over, but we must continue to “be aware” of colorectal cancer; the need for all patients to get screened is important no matter which month it is. Make sure you schedule your screening.
PCC would like to give its support to Congressman Donald Payne, Jr. and Congressman Charlie Dent, who recently introduced bipartisan legislation affecting colorectal cancer screenings. The bill, HR 1220: The Removing Barriers to Colorectal Cancer Screening Act, seeks to remove financial barriers to life-saving colorectal cancer screenings and treatments for Medicare beneficiaries by correcting a loophole that will waive cost-sharing under Medicare for preventive colonoscopies, even if a polyp or tissue is removed.
We encourage everyone to support this bill by writing to their Congressman to urge them to vote for this important legislation! Your voice can help pass this bill!
